You can do a search on Google for him if you've never heard the name, he's the World Famous Violinist of the Manhattan String Quartet, and now performs each day from my laptop Play ViolinI always thought I was a decent violinist, but I suppose a true professional violinist would refer to me as a "newbie". That's why I concluded, "How far wrong can I go with these video tutorials?" Worst case scenario, I'd be a few dollars worse off.But now after spending a few weeks on this course, I can tell you - I am a MUCH better violinist than I used to be! In one of these video lessons, Prof. Lewis demonstrates how to take a composition you've never listened to before, and just play it off the cuff ... and play it VERY well. I always reckoned that was one of the powers that set a professional apart from an amateur. So by that definition, I'm now a professional too!. And my self-confidence has gone through the roof.As you will be able to work out, I'm having a great deal more fun in my life right now. |
